MAKE FILMS

SDF teaches filmmaking by making films.

Students develop their own projects, direct actors from the acting school, and crew on each other’s productions while learning how a real set works.

From script to shoot to edit, the program is built around doing the work, not just talking about it.

LEARN THE CRAFT

Alongside production, students build the skills behind the work.

Lectures and workshops cover screenwriting, cinematography, directing actors, sound recording, editing, and production management.

Students also watch and analyze films together, studying how framing, performance, sound, and editing shape the way a scene works on screen.

TELL BETTER STORIES

Filmmaking is more than technique.

Students learn to think carefully about character, conflict, and theme, and how story decisions shape what an audience feels, sees, and remembers.

The goal is to train filmmakers who can create clear, thoughtful, compelling films from first draft to final cut.

Marine
School Leader

Hey all, I’m Marine! I was born and raised in beautiful Switzerland, and I lived there until 2018 when I left to do my DTS in Pittsburgh. I was always drawn to storytelling, especially through writing and the combinaison of music, images, singing and camera technics I could see in films and musical shows. God used that passion to lead me to do the Film School in 2020 and it was one of the most wonderful and formative time of my life! My passion is truly for you to learn and experience the power of storytelling and create spaces for people to find the heart of God for the art of filmmaking. I’m looking forward to getting to know you!
