BLESSING!
What a blessing it is to know God. What a blessing it is to live in community! What a blessing it is to be surrounded by so many cultures! This fall, we want to be more intentional than ever in proclaiming and sharing blessings. We have a wonderful Father who blesses so generously and we want to imitate Him. Entering the fall season at YWAM Dunham is always such a joy and we are particularly thankful for the rich diversity of people God has sent our way for this coming season - people from Colombia, Mali, Reunion Island, France, as well as many, many Swiss whom we love dearly, both young and not so young, but all with a heart full of youth and love for Jesus. What a blessing!
PARLEZ-VOUS FRANÇAIS?
With the French World being one of our focuses at YWAM Dunham, we are thankful for the opportunity to offer a French Program within our community. Participants come for a period of 6 months to receive weekly lectures and coaching and to volunteer within one of our departments where they are paired up with French speakers so they can practice what they learn. For the fall, we have one participant, Andrea, a young woman from Colombia who has been studying in Canada for the past 4 years. On top of her learning French in our midst, she's expressed being thankful for the Christian community in which she can grow over the coming months. Bienvenu parmi nous, Andrea ! And a special shout out to Evelyne, our program supervisor, who's doing an incredible job!
FALL DTS
We're excited to be launching yet another Fall DTS this September! God has brought to us 7 amazing students, hungry to know God and make Him known. Among these students is Sam, a young man from Mali; he is the answer to many, many prayers. God opened the door for his visa to be issued and we are beyond thrilled to have him in our midst. Our wonderful Ben is providing leadership for this school, supported by an amazing staff team.
MEDIA DEPARTMENT
We're thrilled to introduce Régis-Hari who just joined YWAM Dunham to lead our media department! Hailing from Québec City, Régis did last year's Fall DTS. His background as a freelance videographer aligns perfectly with his new role and we're already seeing the fruit of his excellent work! As we embark on this journey with Régis, we're also saying goodbye to Alyssa who has faithfully led our media efforts for the past year and has been with YWAM Dunham since 2015. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to her for her incredible investment in our community and wish her well in her future endeavours. Please join us in welcoming Régis to YWAM Dunham and in praying for his success as he takes on this vital role in our community. We look forward to the innovative and impactful media projects that lie ahead!
THE RENDEZ-VOUS
The week of August 14-18 was a highlight of the summer for many of us from YWAM Dunham as we joined with YWAMers from all over Canada for our biennial gathering in Pinawa, Manitoba - the Rendez-vous. It was a time of connection, worship, story-telling, encouragement, prayer, and so much more! We heard from our Gen Z-ers about their heart for their generation, we engaged in the blanket exercise which helped us consider our relationship with Indigenous history and communities in Canada, we talked about Ending Bible Poverty Now and oral Bible translation in Canada, heard prophetic words about stepping boldly in faith into the new things God is doing in our country, and many received healing and closure from a traumatic event that occurred the last time we were together in this place in 2017. The time was bathed in worship and prayer and peppered with testimonies, games, lazy rivers, olympics, ping-pong championships, meals and conversations around the tables and for many of us, hours of road-tripping fun! It was a wonderful time and we can’t wait for the next one!
